Your daydream was stolen from you, and they called it growing up.
Go to school. Do the exam. Get a good mark. Go to uni. Do what they say. Get a good mark. Go to work. Do what they say. Get your pay cheque. Repeat for forty years.
Twenty years in, and you're asking, who the hell am I?
School teaches you to do what you're told. The people that are crushing it have a cheeky way of breaking the rules.
"There is no passion to be found playing small, in settling for a life that is less than the one you are capable of living."
Nelson Mandela
Seven thoughts that change how you think.
Dream like a childGetting back the permission to want something.
- I am allowed to have more.
- I'm worth looking after.
- I don't need anyone's approval to be successful.
- "How can I get that?" is the first question I ask.
Think like an adultTurning the dream into a plan that pays.
- I make money by understanding people.
- Problems equal profit.
- Time is the asset. Money is just what I trade for it.

Every Monday morning. One thought, one idea, one action to dream like a child, think like an adult and get what you want. Short enough to read with your coffee.
Sign up and I'll send you the book's introduction straight away. It starts with a $250 tank of petrol, a Tesla test drive, and the moment I realised my brain had been running Full Self Drive.
Who's writing this

Hi, I'm James. Most people call me Jimmi.
I grew up a church kid, and I loved it. I never really went wild. A few parties, tried a few things, but this isn't "that testimony". In grade three, a teacher asked the class to draw a picture of something we loved. I drew Jesus on the cross, blood pooled on the ground, with an arrow pointing at it that said: this blood was for me.

Fast forward. Bible college. A counselling certificate. A hairdressing apprenticeship. A band that hardly toured. Youth pastor, young adults pastor, every-other-kind-of pastor. Then my wife and I started our own church. We've got three kids: London, Jagger and Valentine.
I wanted our church to be different. Less stuff getting in the way of connecting people to Jesus. So we opened six outreach cafes. I swapped my pulpit for a coffee machine, and I'd never seen so much fruit from ministry as I did in that season. It's still the thing I'm most proud of.
Then, out of nowhere, I felt God say: I want you to give up getting paid for ministry. It had been my main income for twenty years. I handed the church to someone else, and it's still going great today.
Which left me with a problem. Being a pastor had been my daydream. I had to start dreaming again. To be honest, I've always been a daydreamer. People tell me I'm crazy, that I'm an enigma. To me it's just normal.
Along the way I'd flipped houses for extra money and started businesses. Some great ones, some that failed. So I went all in on the houses, and made more in a year than I would have earned in six. I realised I was onto something, started a social media page about the whole thing, and it kind of blew up. Now people pay me to coach them on how to flip houses. It's a crazy, big story, and one for another day.
What I really want to say is this. Never quit daydreaming. Imagination is one of the greatest gifts we have.
